Take one factor which increased the population between 1750 and 1900 and research it in more detail!- e.g how did Jenners Jabs work, what age could people marry, how were sewers improved, why was soap readily available etc.- prepare at least a paragarph in your own words and stick it in your books next lesson.
Building on the research from the lesson, research and write down 3 other facts about what life in Britain was like in the 1750's.
How is this different from life now? Stick these into your books next week. No Homework just have a fantastic break, however:
If you wantto earn Vivos- why not research life in the 1700s and draw a picture which highlights the key features of how people lived?! The better it is the more Vivos you will earn! Have a great break. Using the worksheet givenm out in class colour code the 6 factors at the top pf the page, Now using the same colours, read reach piece of information and decide which factor or factors this information woudl best fall into- then colour the triangle the same colour. I have attached a copy of the worsheet for reference,
Please can you give me your feedback on the Plymouth University Trip
https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/QNWPJYY Then.... (you have 2 weeks) Start your research and write at least a paragraph on some key individuals (people) who helped to end slavery- as an extension write a little bit about them. There are lots of websites but here is a useful one to start with. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/abolition/ You must write at least a paragraph mentioning at least one person who contributed to slavery ending. Due in week beginning 28th November. Watch the clip below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrGOUsAR7Cw What is happening prepare to answer questions in class! Do you think all slaves were treated in this way? It didn't matter how much slaves worked they didn't get paid, as a result they would often try to do as little as possible and of try to cost their owner money. Think of different methods slaves could use to achieve this (some of you might use these same techniques today!)
Write down at least 3 ideas to stick into your books.- due week beginning 17/11/16 To support you slave auction poster create an illustration to help promote your advert- remember the examples I showed you in the lesson.- due in next week 10/10/16
In preparation for next weeks lesson I would like you to research:
1) What was a slave auction 2) What was a scramble auction 3) Why did they have scramble auctions 4) How did the slavers (those that owned and traded the slaves) promote their auctions? Homework, think of at least 3 words to describe the slave trade beginning with each letter of the word slavery.
